Stems and Branches, Ba Zi and personality profiles
One of our goals in Chinese medicine is to treat people, not diseases. To do this, we need to know the rules of the universe and how these rules affect us humans.

Ancient Chinese philosophers and physicians discovered various cycles of time that can be divided in many ways. Sections of minutes, hours, days, months, years, 10 years, 12 years, 60 years, and so on. Every moment is therefore a combination of different parallel cycles, just like the moment of our birth. At the moment of birth, we are influenced by large and small movements that determine the potential energies on ourselves, our environment, our emotional and physical health, and the tendency of how weak or strong we can be at different times and under different circumstances in our lives.

Understanding the constitutional energy of patients helps us learn more about the origins of symptoms, pathologies, and diseases and treat them more effectively by preventing disharmonies, recognizing conflicts and difficulties, and understanding the fundamental potential of patients. At the same time, we can see the available energy of each element of the Five Phases, whether it is present or not. This leads to unique constitutional and personalized treatments according to the different cycles and rhythms. The individually tailored acupuncture treatments work better because specific points are selected according to their best effect.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
In this year-long course, we will return to the sources of classical Chinese medicine: the “Nei Jing Su Wen,” “Ling Shu,” and “Nan Jing.” We will delve deeper into the fundamentals of the heavenly stems and earthly branches (Tian Gan Di Zhi). Another focus of this course is on the four pillars of destiny (Si Zhu), also known as Ba Zi (The Eight Characters), in order to understand the deeper levels of personality and Chinese metaphysics. The most important theories in these methods are based on Yin-Yang, Qi, five phases, and six divisions, and on the interactions between them in the various time cycles and between heaven, earth, and man.

During the course, the individual personality charts of all participants are analyzed according to personality and seasonal influences.
