Fukushin hands on class: Japanese Abdominal Diagnosis for Shang Han Lun Formulas

Course Descripion

You will train the hand skills of traditional Japanese Fukushin abdominal palpation, learn how to interpret the findings and use them as a base to prescribe Shang Han Lun formulas.
Kumiko will enable you to realise how cold, heat, dampness, dryness and stasis change the structure of the abdomen and how to feel the physiology and pathology described in the Shang Han Lun actually manifests in the abdomen.
We train how to palpate the map that reflects the six conformations on the abdomen.
Depending on the abdomens available we look for abdominal fullness and emptiness,
epigastric congestion, hardness and resistance, subcostal distention, fullness, and resistance; We look out for water sound and rectus abdominus muscle tightness, pulsations, blood stasis, pain, peri-umbilical hardness and lower abdominal hardness.
This is a hands on class.

Participation requirements

To attend this class you need knowledge of Shang Han Lun formulas and we strongly recommend to have attended Kumiko Shirai’s Fukushin online class upfront.
