Scalp Acupuncture – (not only) for neurological diseases - Level 2

Course description

This scalp acupuncture workshop will introduce the origin and development of scalp acupuncture (SA), the location of stimulation areas and indications, the manipulations and cautions of scalp acupuncture and its clinical applications and sample case treatments.

After the course, participants will understand basic brain knowledge of Chinese medicine and western medicine, may bring back the basic skills of SA location, indication and technique, and start to practice SA on your own clinic patients.

This system of cranial acupuncture was developed by neurosurgeon Dr Jiao Shun Fa (China). Since 1971, he has systematically researched the correlation of areas on the scalp and their effect on certain areas of the brain when stimulated with special needle techniques. His method was officially recognised in China in 1977 and is widely used there. Prof Wang Tian Jun has prepared it didactically and teaches it in his usual lively manner.

Course content

• Repetition and refresher of the areas from Level 1
• Demonstration and practice of the location of the areas from Level 2: areas of the stomach, thorax, reproduction, liver and gall bladder, intestine, nose-neck-mouth-tongue, area for mental calming ‘Stop Madness’, central area
• Repetition and practice of the special needle techniques of cranial acupuncture
• Advanced needling techniques, demonstration and extensive practice
• Advanced treatments, e.g. internal organs, mental illnesses, gynaecological diseases

Prerequisites

This course is interesting for beginners, advanced practitioners and colleagues without acupuncture knowledge.
Prerequisite for participation: cranial acupuncture level 1

Certificate

All participants will receive a certificate of the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Klassische Akupunktur und TCM e.V.”
