Treating gynaecological diseases determine a large part of modern Chineses Medicine practice. Many of them are not simple ailments such as menstrual pain or PMS, but diagnoses of complex endocrine or hormonal conditions, e.g. estrogen or progesterone excess or deficiency, hypothyroidism. According to the diagnostic frameworks in Chinese Medicine there is an underlying imbalance of jing present with specific endocrine syndromes. These can be directly addressed with certain essential oils and herbs that are known to modulate specific hormones. In addition, with the inhalation of essential oils, we can balance the Shen aspect of endocrine imbalances. Taking emotional problems into account is often the key to a successful treatment.
This systemic, functional approach presented during this seminar holds several key benefits in everyday clinical practice: First, understanding the endocrine dynamics of a disease can dramatically improve our treatment strategy, giving us an excellent and not just acceptable treatment outcome.
Secondly, it offers much more targeted treatment options, including essential oils such as geranium, clary sage, rose, ylang ylang, black spruce and herbs such as Vitex, black cohosh, white peony, rhodiola / rose root and ashwaghanda. In addition, educating our patients through this integrative perspective strengthens their confidence in a positive treatment outcome.
“This seminar is an amazing synthesis of different approaches to treatment! The addition of Western and Chinese herbs for
modulating hormones is invaluable. The copious written material is organized in such a way that it’s easy for me to
quickly reference in my clinic. Thank you!” – Tina Dreisbach N.D., L.Ac.
